We hope the following FAQ will answer some questions you may have regarding the NVR Board of Directors (BOD)

What is the BOD? The BOD is a group of member volnteers who run the club. We handle everything from balancing the books to scheduling speakers to buying hot links for the annual BBQ. The rewards of being involved with the BOD come in the form of meeting new friends, directly contributing the the club, and witnessing the fruits of our labor as the club grows each year.

Can I be on the BOD? YES! BOD positions are one-year terms, each October all positions are up for re-election. Open positions can be filled any time. If you are interested talk to a BOD member and let them know - your club can always use another good person! You do not need to be an 'expert' in the hobby, or does being on the BOD imply that you are. We typically prefer to fill the positions of President and Vice President from within existing BOD members to ensure the success of the club, however anyone may run for any position.

Considering running for a position? If so, you might want to know what it will entail. In general the BOD meets once per month; meetings are considered mandatory, however we understand that everyone has a life outside of the BOD and missing an occasional meeting isn't the end of the world. The club meets every other month and BOD members are also encouraged to attend every club meeting, in some positions it may be mandatory. When not meeting face to face we communicate on a BOD-only message forum, this can range from daily to weekly and participation is mandatory. Lastly for position specifics see our bylaws.
