First and formeost, welcome to the Northern Valley Reefers (NVR) club website. You have just found one of the most laid back and fun clubs around. As you read on you will see that NVR is an inclusive club. We always welcome new faces and old friends to join us online or at any of our meetings and events. Who is NVR?
NVR is a group of marine aquaria enthusiasts from the greater San Joaquin County area of California. You may have also read that in our mission statement. We are just a bunch of every day people who are addicted to the saltwater aquarium 'lifestyle'. We have members in Lodi, Stockton, Lathrop, Manteca, Modesto, Tracy, and other cities in the area.

What kinds of meetings events do you have?

How often do meetings and events occur?
Meetings occur every other month, starting in February. In the 'off months' we sometimes have informally planned events which are announced on the website and or discussion forum. Usually meetings and events happen on the last Saturday of the month.

Where does NVR meet at?
Typically meetings are at Valley Brewery Family Restaraunt in the banquet room (map). We have our own server with a full menu of food, beverages, and beer available. The adress is 157 West Adams St. Stockton CA. *Please double check the location by visiting our events page*, on occasion we may change the meeting location.

Are there any club fees or dues?
No. NVR is an inclusive club, meaning all of our meetings are open to the public, and anyone can participate in any of our events. If any restriction is placed on participation it will only be that you register with us (free) using our membership form. This will also put you on our mailing list which will keep you up to date on all NVR events.

So what is membership about?
By registering with us (free) you become a member of NVR. That's all there is to it and you will be able to attend any of our functions. If, after participating with the club for some time, you feel that there is a positive benefit to being a member we would greatly appreciate a donation of $20 or more. Donations are used to help pay for speakers, arrange events, and pay for other club expenses. There will never be any pressure to donate to us, but if you choose to you'll receive 'contributing member' benefits.

What are Contributing Member benefits? When you donate $20 or more to NVR we will issue you a contributing member card. In addition you'll receive the following benefits:
Who runs the club?
NVR is run by volunteer members. This group of members is known as the Board of Directors (BOD). Every October members may run for BOD positions. Most of the time we are a little short handed - if you are interested in helping please contact any of your current BOD members.
